SCUBA DIVING:
Utila offers world class scuba diving. With 11 dive shops whether you are a beginner or advanced you will find
exactly what you are looking for. Dive instruction rates are the best in the Caribbean, if not the world. About
4 days of instruction and $235 gets you a PADI certification! Advanced courses
through to instructor training are also available. Technical and Nitrox training are also available.
Utila is known for its whale sharks (they eat microscopic plankton, not people!). In fact it boasts one of the largest populations of whale sharks in the Bay Island if not the hemisphere. They are spotted periodically throughout the year but especially around February, March and April. Snorkeling with these giant creatures is a real thrill! You can also snorkel right out our front door and see plentiful fish and beautiful coral on calm, windless days.Download Utila Dive sites map.(Word format)
